Several businesses in the Samarkand region have been found in violation of the Law "On Advertising." This was reported by the press service of the Committee for the Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights.

According to the committee, investigations revealed that two hotels in Samarkand — "Vazira Hotel," owned by "Khursheda Grand" LLC, and "Diplomat Premium Hotel," owned by "Diplomat Premium" LLC — falsely advertised themselves with 3 unverified stars on booking platforms.

It was determined that this violated the requirements of Article 16 of the Law "On Advertising" and Article 6 of the Law "On Protection of Consumer Rights." As a result, cases were opened against both "Khursheda Grand" LLC and "Diplomat Premium" LLC. These cases were reviewed by the department's Special Commission, which imposed financial penalties on the hotels.

Additionally, it was discovered that the image of Uzbek film actor, international lawyer, and journalist Otabek Makhkamov had been used without his consent in an advertising banner for the Minded School educational center, operated by Minded LLC in Samarkand.

A case was also initiated against "Minded" LLC for this violation, and the Special Commission found that the advertisement was inappropriate, as it violated Article 16, Part 3, Clause 5 of the Law "On Advertising," which prohibits the use of a person’s name or image without their consent. As a result, a financial penalty was imposed on "Minded" LLC.

In addition to the penalties, the businesses involved were instructed to rectify the violations and ensure compliance with the law in the future.

It should be noted that earlier in Tashkent, a financial fine was also imposed on an enterprise for violating advertising regulations.
