Reports have spread on social networks claiming that officers at the Samarkand District Internal Affairs Department (IAD) used force against two children aged 15 and 10, causing them physical injuries. It was also alleged that despite complaints being filed, the victims were not sent for a medical examination.

To clarify the situation, QALAMPIR.UZ contacted the Children’s Ombudsman Surayyo Rahmonova.

According to Rahmonova, the incident was not as described on social media. She explained that the child of a person involved in a personal case came to the scene and tore down official notices posted there, interfering with the process.

Despite being told to stop, the child continued such actions, after which officers attempted to take him to the IAD in a car. However, once the child’s age was determined, he was immediately released.

“Currently, the situation is under control, and necessary assistance has been provided,” Rahmonova said.

We remind you that earlier in the Samarkand region, an IIB officer was reported to have used force against a journalist during a court hearing in Samarkand district, demanding that he confess guilt and insulting him.
