Illegal mining farm was uncovered in Samarkand, causing 5.5 billion soums in electricity theft

In the Taylak district of the Samarkand region, a farm was found to have illegally consumed 5.5 billion soums worth of electricity. The discovery was reported by "Uzenergoinspeksiya."

During a joint operation conducted by the Samarkand Regional Administration and the Regional Department of Internal Affairs, a resident of the Charagban neighborhood in Taylak district, identified as E.S., was found to have purchased 55 sets of mining equipment for commercial use. It was revealed that this equipment had been connected illegally, directly drawing power from the internet.

Preliminary calculations showed that the farm had illegally consumed electricity amounting to 5 billion 528 million soums.

Documents related to the case have been prepared and forwarded to law enforcement authorities for further investigation.

This follows a similar incident in the Yangihayot district of Tashkent, where a mining farm was exposed for illegally using 751.6 million soums worth of electricity.
