In Samarkand, officials looted more than 2 billion subsidy funds

It was found that more than 2 billion soms of subsidy allocated to several farms in Samarkand region were embezzled.  This was reported by the regional law enforcement agencies.

It is noted that the officials of the working group on subsidy allocation in Narpay, Pakhtachi and Bulung’ur districts and the managers of farms in these districts made a criminal conspiracy with each other.  It was found that they embezzled 2 billion 608 million soms of subsidy funds.

In particular, officials of Narpay district allocated 1 billion 325 million soms to 35 farms that did not introduce drip irrigation systems and water-saving technology, but 321 to 7 farms that did not use it in practice.  Allocated subsidies in the amount of million soms.  Through this, officials have appropriated budget funds totaling 1 billion 646 million soms.

Also, Pakhtachi district subsidy allocation officials colluded with district farm managers and appropriated subsidy funds of 727 million soms to 25 farms that did not implement drip irrigation system.

The working group of Bulung’ur district on the allocation of subsidies transferred 235 million soms of subsidy funds to 9 farms that did not implement water-saving technologies and looted them.

In connection with these cases, criminal cases were initiated against the officials of the district working group on the allocation of subsidies and the managers of the farm. Investigations are currently underway.
