2 students drown in Samarkand pond

On May 24, two students from School No. 6 in the Pakhtachi district of Samarkand region drowned in a pond. The information was confirmed to QALAMPIR.UZ by Hayot Shamsutdinov, spokesperson for the Prosecutor General's Office.
According to the report, at around 15:30, the duty unit of the Pakhtachi district Internal Affairs Department received a call stating that two 13-year-old students had drowned in a pond used for drip irrigation at the “Nazarov Akbuta” farm, located in the Sardoba mahalla.
The district police and prosecutor’s office have launched an investigation into the incident.
It should be recalled that a similar tragedy occurred earlier when a 14-year-old boy drowned while swimming in a canal in the Mirzaabad district of the Syrdarya region.
