Saidov discusses international intolerance with Lavrov

5850On September 26, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov during the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York. A key focus of their discussion was the need to combat inter-ethnic intolerance, as reported by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The ministers also addressed several pressing issues in Russia-Uzbekistan relations, including preparations for upcoming events within the framework of the interstate dialogue. They exchanged views on various global and regional matters.
"Both Lavrov and Saidov reaffirmed the commitment of their respective countries to strengthen their comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance, in line with the agreements made by the leaders of Uzbekistan and Russia. The meeting emphasized the importance of jointly addressing manifestations of international intolerance," the report states.
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs had delivered a presentation to Uzbekistan’s Ambassador in Moscow, Botyrjon Asadov.
