Saidov holds talks with Kazakhstan's new foreign minister

Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov held a phone conversation with Yerzhan Kosherbayev, who has been appointed as Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister. Saidov wrote about this on his Telegram channel.
He congratulated his counterpart on the new position and wished him success in his important mission. During the talks, the sides discussed further expanding relations of strategic partnership and alliance, as well as strengthening cooperation within regional and international organizations.
It was also emphasized that the foreign ministries of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan will continue close cooperation in implementing the agreements reached between the leaders of the two countries.
Since April 2023, Murat Nurtleu had been serving as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs. On September 26, he was relieved of his post and appointed Assistant to the President on international investment and trade cooperation issues. Yerzhan Kosherbayev was appointed as the new Foreign Minister.
According to official information, Yerzhan Kosherbayev was born on May 2, 1965, in Almaty. He graduated from the Kirov Kazakh State University. In 1993, he also completed studies at the Diplomatic Academy of the USSR Ministry of Foreign Affairs, specializing in ’’international relations and foreign policy.’’
He began his career in January–May 1988 as a history teacher at Secondary School No. 170 in Almaty. From 1988 to 1991, he worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kazakh SSR as a senior inspector, second secretary, and first secretary.
It is worth noting that earlier, Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov met with Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
