Saida Mirziyoyeva meets UN Secretary-General’s deputy in Vienna

Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan, met with Monica Juma, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations and the newly appointed Executive Director of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, in Vienna on June 1. She announced this on her Telegram channel.
According to Mirziyoyeva, the meeting focused on Uzbekistan’s cooperation with the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, efforts to combat drug-related threats, and work being carried out following the Samarkand International Forum dedicated to this global issue, which was held in April 2026.

Mirziyoyeva also thanked Monica Juma for supporting Uzbekistan’s side event dedicated to the protection of women, children and youth. Uzbekistan held the event today as part of the 35th session of the UN Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice.
“We are ready to further develop our partnership with the UN Office on Drugs and Crime in the areas of security, justice and sustainable development,” she said.

Earlier, it was reported that Saida Mirziyoyeva had attended the 35th session of the UN Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice in Vienna, Austria.
