Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan, Saida Mirziyoyeva, held a meeting today, December 5, in Tashkent with Mohammed Abunayyan, chairman of Saudi Arabia’s ACWA Power and a member of the board of directors of Vision Invest. She reported the meeting on her social media pages.
According to the information, the sides discussed the implementation of joint projects in energy, healthcare, digital technologies, and other sectors, which are expected to make a significant contribution to economic modernization and improving the quality of life of the population.

For reference, on August 19, 2024, construction began—together with Saudi Arabia’s ACWA Power—on a 200-megawatt wind power plant equipped with a 100-megawatt energy storage system in the Beruniy and Qorao‘zak districts of Karakalpakstan. The project is valued at 250 million dollars.
Earlier, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in a ceremony dedicated to launching new energy capacities and initiating the construction of additional facilities, where it was announced that next year, based on Chinese experience, 107 megawatts of solar power capacity will be installed across 300 neighborhoods in Uzbekistan through cooperation with local residents.
President Mirziyoyev also received a delegation led by Suhail Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure. The meeting was attended by Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi, CEO of Masdar; Yousif Al Ali, CEO of Etihad Water & Electricity; and Ahmad Al Shamsi, CEO of TAQA Water Solutions.
