On May 1, Saida Mirziyoyeva, Assistant to the President of Uzbekistan and eldest daughter of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, met with Muhammad Abdussalam, Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders. She shared details of the meeting on her social media account.
During the conversation, Mirziyoyeva expressed her gratitude to the influential international organization for supporting the universal and spiritual values rooted in Islam.
"Under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Uzbekistan is rightfully recognized worldwide for its promotion of interfaith harmony and its unique Islamic heritage, which is a source of national pride," she wrote.
Mirziyoyeva also announced that she had been appointed as a jury member for the annual Sheikh Zayed "Human Fraternity" Award. She expressed deep appreciation for the recognition, stating:
"I am truly honored by this acknowledgment of my humble contributions. Only through joint efforts can we make this world a better place."
Founded in 2014 in Abu Dhabi, UAE, the Muslim Council of Elders is an independent international organization dedicated to promoting peace, conflict resolution, and tolerance within the Muslim world. The council is chaired by Sheikh Ahmed el-Tayeb, Grand Imam of Egypt’s Al-Azhar complex, with Muhammad Abdussalam serving as Secretary-General.
The organization aims to strengthen dialogue, encourage respect, and foster prosperous communities that value knowledge, scholars, and peaceful coexistence.
