Rustam Juraev appointed Head of the Public Security Department

By a relevant decree and resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Rustam Mirzaevich Juraev has been appointed First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Head of the Public Security Department. In this connection, he has been relieved of his position as Commander of the National Guard of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

For reference, Rustam Juraev was born on July 26, 1968, in Tashkent. He graduated from the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Prior to this appointment, he also served as Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Uzbekistan. From February 2018 to March 2020, he worked as Head of the Main Department of Internal Affairs of Tashkent City and concurrently as Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs. Since that time, he had been serving as Commander of the National Guard of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

It is worth noting that earlier reports stated that Bahodir Toshmatov had been appointed Commander of the National Guard of the Republic of Uzbekistan and, in this connection, had been relieved of his position as Deputy Secretary of the Security Council under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
