Russian football expert Yuri Semin has criticized 'Spartak Moscow" for missing the opportunity to sign Uzbek defender Abdukodir Khusanov while he was playing in the Belarusian league. Semin expressed his surprise in an interview with Metaratings, noting that Khusanov's performances with "Energetik-BGU" should have caught the attention of scouts from Russian clubs.

Semin highlighted that "Spartak" could have signed the talented player for just $100,000, and he believes this transfer would have been a valuable addition to the club.

"Why did the previous leadership of "Spartak" not pay attention to the Belarusian championship? How could they not see such a bright player?" Semin questioned.

It is worth mentioning that on January 3, 2025, Spaniard Francis Cajigao was appointed as the new sports director of "Spartak Moscow", with his contract running until the end of the 2026/27 season.

Meanwhile, Khusanov, who plays for the Uzbekistan national team, is reportedly on the verge of joining "Manchester City". The 20-year-old defender is expected to make the move soon, with the transfer set to become the most expensive deal in the history of Uzbek football.
