In the city of Kovylkino, located in the Republic of Mordovia, Russia, officers of the internal affairs department detained three Uzbek citizens working at a construction site without the required documents. This was reported by Stolica.
According to the report, administrative protocols were drawn up against the detained migrants. They were fined a total of 9,000 rubles (1,433,595 soums) and placed in a temporary detention center for foreign citizens. In addition, they were sentenced to administrative expulsion from Russia.
For reference, under Russian legislation, officials may be fined up to 70,000 rubles (11,179,108 soums) for the illegal employment of foreign labor. Legal entities and individual entrepreneurs can face fines of up to 1 million rubles (159,701,554 soums) for each undocumented foreign worker.
It should be recalled that earlier, a 29-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan whose residence permit had been revoked was officially deported from Russia.
