Uzbek man claiming people exemption from mobilization in Russia was arrested

A citizen of Uzbekistan was detained in Russia's Krasnodar region on fraud charges, as announced by the Internal Affairs Department of Krasnodar Territory.

According to reports, the 47-year-old Uzbek man posed as a high-ranking official from the Russian Ministry of Defense, promising assistance in avoiding mobilization in exchange for money.

The arrest was carried out in collaboration with the regional headquarters of the Special Enforcement Center of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for Krasnodar Territory.

It was discovered that the man was wanted under Article 168 (Fraud) of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan and had previous convictions for financial crimes. He has been residing illegally in Russia.

Authorities have initiated a criminal case against him under Article 159 (Fraud) and Article 327 (Forgery, preparation or circulation of forged documents, state awards, stamps, seals or blanks) of the Russian Criminal Code, and investigations are ongoing.
