Uzbek woman was imprisoned for 8 years for drug trafficking in Russia

A citizen of Uzbekistan, accused of selling a significant quantity of drugs in the Saratov region of Russia, has been sentenced to 8 years in prison, according to a report by "Chetvyortaya Vlast."

The report states that in the spring of 2024, the defendant conspired with an unidentified individual and received a wholesale batch of heroin weighing 210.5 grams in the Moscow region. She then divided the heroin into smaller portions and concealed them in various locations on Sofinskaya Street in Balashov. Law enforcement authorities later apprehended her with 204.6 grams of the drug, which she had not yet managed to hide.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the woman used bank cards belonging to others to spend the proceeds from the sale of the drugs for her personal needs. She successfully laundered an amount of 200,000 rubles.

The defendant was found guilty under the relevant articles of the Russian Criminal Code and sentenced to 8 years in prison, with the sentence to be served in a general-regime penal colony.

It was also reported that earlier, a 23-year-old Uzbek man, who was involved in the sale of synthetic drugs in Russia, was sentenced to 20 years in a high-security correctional colony. During a search of his residence, 300 grams of narcotics were discovered.
