An Uzbek man accused of sending sexual images and videos to children has been arrested in Russia, as reported by the press service of Udmurtia courts.

The court found that the 29-year-old Uzbek citizen, with no prior convictions, had initiated conversations with teenagers on the “VKontakte” social network. He sent them photos and videos depicting genitals and sexual activities and engaged them in discussions about intimate topics.

On May 29, a court in Igrinsky district delivered a verdict against the Uzbek citizen. It was revealed that two of the four victims were girls and the other two were boys, residing in the Irkutsk and Orenburg regions. The crimes were committed while the defendant was in the Moscow region.

"The defendant did not admit to his crimes. He was found guilty under Articles 132 and 135 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and sentenced to 14 years in a strict-regime colony," the report stated.

It should be noted that earlier in Russia, preventive detention measures were applied to a Uzbek man who had committed sexual offenses against minors.
