Car import duty is reduced in Uzbekistan 

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoev signed the Decree «On additional measures to stimulate the development of the internal automobile market» on 21 February

According to the Decree:

Customs duties on the importation of vehicles will be reduced in two stages. Duties will be reduced by two or more times from the date of signature, until 1 January 2023. It will also reduce the amount of additional coefficient on the power of the car engine. From January 1, 2023, the additional coefficients for each cubic centimeter of the car’s engine will be halved.

However, reduced duties apply only to new vehicles that have not crossed the Uzbek customs border for more than 1 year (previously not more than 3 years) since the date of issue.

Also, from 1 April 2022 the practice of only submitting an invoice that is automatically issued to the person who signed the contract for the purchase of motor vehicles electronically, to the Traffic Service of the Department of Public Safety under the Ministry of Internal Affairs will be established by «UzAuto Motors» JSC. The vehicle will be registered in the name of the person who is the subject of the contract and will be entered into the Traffic Service database.
