8782The Competition Commission has issued a directive to all state and private television channels concerning advertising regulations, as reported by the Committee for the Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights.
"Recently, there have been instances of non-compliance with legal requirements regarding the dissemination and placement of advertisements in the mass media, particularly on television channels," the statement reads.
In response to these concerns, the committee has sent a directive to television and radio channels providing digital television services. The directive requests that these channels align and review their advertising practices to ensure compliance with current legal requirements within one month.
By the stipulations of this directive, the committee will carry out sectoral monitoring and analysis within its jurisdiction. Should any legal violations be identified during these assessments, strict and effective measures, including financial penalties, will be imposed on the responsible entities.
It is worth noting that "Ipotekabank," "AVO Bank," and the "Korzinka" supermarket chain have previously been fined for misleading advertising.
