EastFruit analysts reported that apple prices in Uzbekistan began to rise just before the new year, following a slight prior decrease. Earlier, there was a notable drop in the prices of "Simirenko" and "Golden" apple varieties, with wholesale prices in the domestic market declining by 29% and 23%, respectively, between November 10 and November 24 of this year.

However, experts note that the decrease in Simirenko apple prices was short-lived. Within the next two weeks, the prices nearly doubled.

Between November 24 and December 8, 2023, the average wholesale price of Simirenko apples increased from 5,000 to 9,000 soums per kg ($0.41 to $0.73), marking a 1.8 times increase. Additionally, the average wholesale price of Fujii apples also rose from 14,000 to 15,000 soums/kg ($1.14 to $1.22).

This indicates that these products' average wholesale prices are 50% higher compared to the same period last year.

After a sharp decline, "Golden" apple prices stabilized at 10,000 soums ($0.81) per kg in subsequent weeks.

Researchers have discovered that apple peels contain beneficial substances that aid in maintaining muscle mass.

Experts highlight the presence of ursulic acid in apple peels, which helps in regulating blood cholesterol and sugar levels.
