Within just one week, 360 unutilized and ineffective real estate properties were identified in the Andijan region. Additionally, 96 buildings remain unsold at open auctions. These figures were revealed by the President during a meeting on April 16, focused on the region’s comprehensive development priorities.
According to reports, if these properties are offered on favorable terms, entrepreneurs are ready to invest in projects that will generate employment. For instance, if 20 acres of land at the Endocrinology Center in Andijan city and 30 adjacent acres belonging to Polyclinic No. 1 are put up for auction, an investor has expressed readiness to build a $20 million private medical center with 600 beds. Similarly, if the renovated "Student Youth Center" in the Urikzor neighborhood of Andijan district is auctioned, entrepreneurs have announced plans to invest $35 million in an educational cluster. This cluster would include a kindergarten, school, technical school, and university, accommodating up to 6,000 students.
As a result, authorities have been ordered to auction off all vacant land and buildings in the region.
"I strictly warn everyone—vacant buildings belonging to medical and educational organizations will only be transferred under the condition that their ‘profile’ is not altered," the President emphasized.
To ensure compliance, the Prosecutor General’s Office has been instructed to establish strict oversight mechanisms.
It should be noted that, during the same meeting, it was announced that an additional 1 trillion sums would be allocated to the Andijan region. Officials—including regional administrators, heads of district organizations, and 16 city and district governors—were directed to maintain momentum by engaging daily with both the public and entrepreneurs.
