President Mirziyoyev congratulates the school graduates

Today 24 May, the president of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev sent a congratulatory message to the school graduates. The message said:

Dear school graduates!

I sincerely congratulate you on your successful graduation and your entry into a more independent and responsible life.

I wish you all great success in the future and in these joyful and exciting moments when all the general education schools of our country ring the «last bell» and hold farewell evenings at our dear schools and with good teachers.

Congratulations on the graduation certificate, a symbol of hope and confidence!

My dear children!

This year, more than 390,000 students will graduate from the country’s secondary schools. Undoubtedly, our diligent and determined children, like you, who are striving to use their knowledge and talent for noble goals, to become worthy children of our Motherland and our people, are our trust and support, a gold fund of New Uzbekistan, invaluable treasure.

Of course, today is an unforgettable day in our country not only for school graduates, but also for their parents and teachers.  On this joyous occasion, we sincerely congratulate them and wish them all the best wishes.

In recent years, the quality of preschool, higher and secondary special education has changed dramatically.  In particular, the development of school education has become a nationwide movement, and radical reforms are being implemented.  The fact that there are more than 10,000 public schools in the country, as well as many non-state, and public-private partnership schools, presidential, specialized, and creative educational establishments, shows that in a short time profound structural and qualitative changes have been made in this system.

Last year alone, 789 schools worth 3.3 trillion soms were built and repaired.  The number of medals won by our students at the international science Olympiads tripled, and at the regional Olympiads – almost doubled.  As part of the” One Million Programmers” project, we were pleased that more than 900,000 students had learned the basics of programming and received a certificate. 

Special attention needs to be paid to encouraging teachers and educators who have devoted their lives to educating the younger generation, to improve their working and living conditions and raise their prestige in society.

School curricula and textbooks are being updated to reflect the experience of developed countries.  It was an important step that 326 educational-Methodist sets, textbooks, and notebooks for general schools were updated.

All schools in the country are connected to the high-speed fiber Internet, installed local network, and Wi-Fi equipment.

We also pay special attention to the growth of our children in today’s turbulent times as highly spiritual, and truly patriotic.  Many spiritual and educational activities are being carried out, and consistent efforts are being made to strengthen book-loving among our young people and to involve them more actively in the literary, artistic, and sports sections.

Recently, Uzbekistan has become a country of great opportunities for our people, especially for our young people like you.  162 institutions of higher education, many vocational schools, colleges, and technical colleges operating in the country, will help you in the future to become a leading and qualified specialist in your chosen field.

In addition, 78 institutions of higher education offer further training, higher education, and distance learning.

The rate of enrollment of young graduates increased from 9% in 2016 to 38% this year.

In our country, special opportunities have been created in the system of vocational education for orphans and children deprived of parental care, as well as for children from families in need of social protection and children with disabilities.

In this connection, 1,157 persons were admitted to colleges and technical colleges on payment and contractual basis in the 2020-2021 academic year, and 1,433 persons were admitted in addition to admission criteria in the 2021-2022 academic year.  It should be noted that they were accepted for higher education on the basis of a state grant program.

I am sure that due to such opportunities you will become leading specialists, and in the future, you will start working in modern clusters, farms, industrial enterprises, large-scale construction, firms, and companies, state and non-state organizations, cultural and creative communities.  You will certainly make a worthy contribution to the well-being of our people.

In short, each of our young people who have completed secondary school will have the special attention of our country.  In this regard, regional, city, and district administrations, sector leaders, community representatives, as well as your parents and teachers will be your closest assistants and advisors.

In these glorious moments, I once again congratulate you, my dear children, on the successful completion of school and the achievement of the first important milestone in your life.

Never forget that in the future you will have even bigger and more responsible goals.  When you set yourself a clear goal and work with all your force, knowledge, and potential, you will definitely reach your intended purpose.

I wish you all great success in your work, study and in your personal life.
