In a telephone conversation held today, January 27, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev extended his heartfelt congratulations to Alexander Lukashenko on his decisive victory in Belarus's presidential elections, held yesterday. This information was shared by the Presidential Press Service.

"The Head of State emphasized that the active participation of voters and the results of the vote once again confirmed that the Belarusian people have high confidence in the incumbent President and widely support the ongoing political and socio-economic reforms," the official report stated.

During their conversation, the two leaders also discussed pressing matters concerning the further development of the multifaceted Uzbek-Belarusian partnership. Particular attention was given to implementing agreements reached during President Lukashenko's visit to Uzbekistan on February 7-9 of last year.

In 2024, the trade turnover between the two countries exceeded $700 million. Both leaders underscored the importance of accelerating industrial cooperation projects across various economic sectors, maintaining close business and interregional ties, and promoting active cultural and humanitarian exchanges. They also reviewed the roadmap for future bilateral events.

It is worth noting that Igor Karpenko, head of Belarus's Central Election Commission, earlier announced that 86.82 percent of voters had re-elected Alexander Lukashenko, who has been in power for 30 years, for a seventh term.
