President signs new decree on air transport

From March 2023, the schedule of domestic flights will be expanded.  Also, flights to Zomin airport will be launched.  This is stated in the resolution «On additional measures for the development of domestic air transport in the republic», signed by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

According to him, to connect the regions, starting from March 2023, new roads will be built, such as Samarkand-Nukus, Samarkand-Moynak, Samarkand-Termez, Bukhara-Termez, Namangan-Termez, and Namangan-Nukus.  It is planned to open regular flights in these directions.

In addition, flights to Shahrisabz and Sariosia airports as well as flights to Zomin airport will be restored to further increase the tourist potential of Kashkadarya, Surkhan-Darya, and Dzhizak regions.

Steps will be taken to create a unified logistics system by integrating timetables with passenger-friendly rail, bus, and minibus routes.

In addition, the decision has been extended until 1 January 2026, the term of granting a subsidy from the national budget in the amount of 25 percent of the cost of an air ticket to resident airlines of Uzbekistan for flights on domestic tourism routes.
