The recent collapse of a bridge in the Piskent district of Tashkent region has been attributed to a truck exceeding the specified weight limit of 8 tons. This information was confirmed by the Committee of Automobile Roads.

The incident involved a Howo heavy cargo vehicle traveling along the 4R19 highway from Toytepa to Piskent. As the truck moved along the 14th-kilometer section of the A373 highway, the reinforced concrete components of the bridge, including the beams and support piles, were unable to withstand the excessive load. Consequently, the bridge collapsed, sending the vehicle and its cargo into the "Toshkanal" canal.

The truck registered to a citizen identified as R.R., has a technical specification indicating an unladen weight of 26.8 tons and a maximum allowable weight of 40.0 tons. Upon reviewing the vehicle's documents, authorities discovered it was loaded with sand products, totaling 50 cubic meters. This translates to approximately 80 tons when applying the transfer coefficient of 1.6 (50m³ x 1.6 = 80 tons). Adding the truck's unladen weight, the total weight reached 106.8 tons.

Despite clear road signs on the bridge prohibiting heavy vehicles and indicating a weight limit of 8 tons, the driver disregarded these restrictions, leading to this unfortunate incident.
