Students studying in pedagogy fields will now undergo external diagnostic assessment of their knowledge. This is provided for in Regulation No. 3853, “On the Procedure for Conducting External Diagnostic Assessment of Students’ Knowledge in the Field of Pedagogy,” registered by the Ministry of Justice.

According to the regulation, students’ knowledge will be assessed through external diagnostics in order to evaluate the quality of personnel training in pedagogy fields. The external diagnostic assessment will be conducted once every academic year in the form of tests among third-year students studying in pedagogy programs.

The test will consist of 50 questions, and students will be given 45 minutes to complete it. Each correct answer will be worth 2 points, with the maximum score set at 100 points.

Under the regulation, every September, a working group consisting of at least five qualified specialists will be formed by order of the Minister of Preschool and School Education to conduct the external diagnostic assessment.

Based on the results of the external diagnostics, education programs with an average score of 56 points or higher will be assessed as “meeting the requirements,” while programs with an average score below 56 points will be assessed as “not meeting the requirements.”

The diagnostic results will not affect students’ current academic performance indicators or rating scores. They will serve to analyze the quality of teacher training.

Earlier, it was reported that starting from the 2026/2027 academic year, all higher education institutions will introduce a Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship course to develop students’ entrepreneurial skills and familiarize them with existing opportunities for running a business.
