Aram Vardanyan, a member of the Uzbek national team in Greco-Roman wrestling, competing in the Olympic Games in the -77 kg weight class, entered the mat for the competition for third place.
Vardanyan faced Malkhas Amoyan of Armenia, the 2021 world champion, and lost by 1 point, finishing the Olympics in 5th place.
In today's program, another representative of Uzbekistan, Rustam Assakalov, will compete for a bronze medal. Assakalov will face Cuban Gabriel Kindelan in the -97 kg weight class.
