Paris 2024: a boxer from Uzbekistan leaves the Olympics

Today, August 1, marked the beginning of the quarter-final boxing matches at the Olympic Games hosted by Paris. Ruslan Abdullayev from Uzbekistan faced off against Canadian Wyatt Sanford in the -63.5 kg weight category.

After three full rounds, the judges awarded victory to the Canadian boxer.

As a result, Abdullayev's journey in Paris ended at the quarter-final stage. By advancing to the semi-finals, Sanford has secured at least a bronze medal.

Additionally, in today's program, another Uzbek boxer, Lazizbek Mullojonov, competing in the -92 kg category, will fight for a place in the semi-finals. A victory for Mullojonov will guarantee him at least a bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
