On the next day of the Olympic Games, the delegation of Uzbekistan will compete in three sports with five athletes.
In Greco-Roman wrestling, Aram Vardanyan in the -77 kg category and Rustam Assakalov in the -97 kg category will continue their quest for Paris-2024 medals. The opponents who defeated them in the quarter-finals have secured places in the finals. Thus, both wrestlers will compete today in the repechage round for a chance to win the bronze medal.
Ekaterina Shubina will test her abilities in the 500 meters, while Shahriyor Mahkamov will compete in the 1000 meters in kayaking and canoeing.
The day's program will conclude with Bahodir Jalolov's performance in the +92 kg boxing matches. On August 8, at approximately 1:00 AM Tashkent time, Bahodir Jalolov will face Germany's Nelvi Tiafak for a place in the Olympic finals.
It is worth noting that earlier reports indicated that three boxers from Uzbekistan have already reached the Olympic finals.
