The artist who painted the “Pakhtakor” metro station passed away

Today, on September 3, Vladimir Burmakin, a prominent figure in the visual arts of Uzbekistan, member of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan, and recipient of the Order of Selfless Services, passed away at the age of 87. This was reported by the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan.

It is noted that in the mid-1970s, Vladimir Burmakin decorated the "People's Friendship" Palace, the "Pakhtakor" metro station, the "Mehnat Zaxiralari" sports complex, and the "Zarafshon" restaurant.

He is also remembered as the creator of hundreds of beautiful works, including mosaics in various buildings, interior drawings in Tashkent Airport and the Senate building, and pieces such as "Madonna of Boysun," "Song about a Tree," and "Physics Figures of Uzbekistan."

Vladimir Burmakin participated in numerous exhibitions in Uzbekistan, the Russian Federation, Great Britain, France, the USA, Germany, Bulgaria, Turkey, Poland, and other countries. His works are held in many museums, galleries, and private collections. Over 200 of his pieces are collected in the ECYU-Hotel gallery in the town of Gummersbach, near Cologne, Germany.

For more than forty years, he taught in Tashkent's art educational institutions, mentoring dozens of talented artists who have since become renowned figures in Uzbekistan's art scene.

We also remind you that yesterday, on September 2, the People's Artist of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Karakalpakstan, Bobomurod Hamdamov, passed away at the age of 84.
