Universities announce start dates for 2025–2026 academic year

The 2025–2026 academic year will start on September 3 for first-year students and on September 8 for senior students. This was reported by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovations.

The ministry has approved the dates for the start of the new academic year in higher education institutions and academic lyceums by an official order.

According to the decision:

•  Classes for all academic lyceum students and first-year university students will begin on September 3, 2025;
•  Classes for second-year and senior university students will begin on September 8.

The ministry added that an “Introduction to the Credit Education System” week and “Dedication to Student” events will be held for first-year students at universities.

These activities aim to introduce students to their institution, explain the credit-module system and its advantages, guide students in selecting elective courses, foster independent learning skills, and promote academic integrity, as well as professional and personal growth.
