ADB lends $93 million to Uzbekistan

An agreement worth $93 million US dollars was signed between Uzbekistan and the Asian Development Bank for the "Development of Skills for the Modern Economy" project. This was reported by the Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Employment.

It is worth noting that Bekhzod Musaev, the Minister of Poverty Alleviation and Employment, met with a delegation led by Ayako Inagaki, Head of the Human Resources Development Sector at the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

During the meeting, negotiations were held on strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of human capital development in the country and implementing new initiatives in the future.

Opinions were also expressed regarding the implementation of the $93 million agreement between Uzbekistan and the Asian Development Bank under the "Development of Skills for the Modern Economy" project.

"It should be noted that this project aims to increase the competitiveness of Uzbekistan's industrial sectors, promote inclusive growth through vocational training for youth and the unemployed population. This project will develop a skilled labor force in sectors such as construction, textile and sewing industry, information and communication technologies, agribusiness, and the food industry, as well as technical and equipment services," stated the ministry.
