19014Otabek Umarov met with the Prince of Saudi Arabia during the ongoing II Saudi Games in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. Otabek Umarov, the vice-president of the Olympic Council of Asia, and Oybek Kasimov, the general secretary of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan, participated as guests of honor in the opening ceremony on November 27, as reported by the press service of the National Olympic Committee (NOC).
During his visit to Riyadh, Otabek Umarov had a meeting with Prince Fahad bin Mansour Al Saud of Saudi Arabia. The Uzbekistani delegation had been invited to the opening ceremony by Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal, another member of the Royal Family, who serves as the Minister of Sports of the country and Chairman of the National Olympic and Paralympic Committees.
Umarov engaged in discussions with Prince Abdulaziz about advancing the Olympic movement in the region and enhancing cooperation between countries in the field of sports. Topics included the strengthening of friendly relations between Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia, organizing training camps involving national teams for major sports competitions, and exchanging the latest achievements in sports.
Concurrently, the Congress of the Islamic Solidarity Sports Organization is taking place in Riyadh. Officials participating in this event have reached an agreement to bolster international relations.
During the congress, the organizing committee presented the "Vision-2030" strategy for the development of sports in Saudi Arabia to the official guests. Various presentations were made regarding Saudi Arabia's preparation plan for major competitions such as the 2034 FIFA World Cup and the Asian Summer Games. Additionally, discussions took place on the collaboration with Saudi Arabia in the preparations for the "Tashkent-2025" Youth Asian Games.
