Otabek Umarov meets with Gennady Golovkin

Otabek Umarov held discussions with Gennady Golovkin, the current head of the Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan and a renowned boxer, during their recent meeting. The encounter, as conveyed by the National Olympic Committee (NOC) press service, took place as part of Uzbekistan's delegation visit to Bangkok for the General Assembly.

 

Otabek Umarov, serving as the Deputy Chairman of the State Security Service of Uzbekistan and Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), engaged in several meetings with officials before the assembly, alongside Oybek Qosimov and Janar Uteshova, general secretaries of the National Olympic Committees of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan respectively.

 

During their interaction, Gennady Golovkin extended his congratulations to Otabek Umarov on Uzbekistan's Olympic football team qualifying for the Paris-2024 Summer Olympic Games, while expressing well wishes for their upcoming endeavors. In return, Umarov congratulated Golovkin on his recent appointment and conveyed his best wishes for his leadership role. Additionally, Umarov invited Golovkin to Uzbekistan, expressing eagerness for future collaboration.
