In Uzbekistan, there's a proposed law that may prohibit parents from using corporal punishment when raising their children. This draft legislation aims to regulate relationships concerning the protection of children from all types of violence.

During the Legislative Chamber session on February 27, this bill was discussed and initially approved.

The proposed law outlines parents' roles and responsibilities in safeguarding children from violence. It emphasizes that parents are obligated to ensure the well-being and safety of their children, as well as shield them from harmful influences.

Alisher Qodirov commented on the significance of this bill, stating, "How we treat and educate our children shapes their future."

Additionally, the draft law explicitly prohibits violence against children in educational settings. Any form of violence, including physical punishment or other forms of cruel or degrading treatment, is strictly forbidden as a disciplinary measure in educational institutions.
