Yesterday 15 June, in the semi-final of the Asian U-23 Cup, Uzbekistan defeated its Japanese counterpart with a score of 2:0.

Despite a painful defeat, the Japanese U-23 team cleaned the locker room before departing.

Director of the PFL (Professional Football League of Uzbekistan) Diyor Imomkhodjaev drew attention to this situation, noting that the Japanese exhibited intelligence to world football.

"The Japanese locker room after the game. One of the best qualities that the Japanese exhibited to world football - is undeniable intelligence’, - Imomkhodjaev said.

It should be recalled that Uzbek football fans were not allowed to enter the stadium in the semi-final match of U-23 between Uzbekistan and Japan due to unrest in the match between the youth of Uzbekistan and Iraq in the quarterfinals of the Asian Cup U-23. AFC (Asian Football Association) also fined UFA (Uzbekistan Football Association) $50,000.

For reference, after losing to Belgium in the quarter-finals of the 2018 World Cup in Russia, the Japanese team cleaned up the locker room and showed the world how to magnanimously accept defeat.
