Uzbekistan’s U-17 national football team will play its third-round match at the AFC Asian Cup today, May 13. Sergey Chigodayev’s side will face Australia in this round.
The match between the two teams will determine the winner of Group D. The team that wins the match will finish first in the group, while a draw will allow Australia to retain the top spot.
Both teams have already secured qualification from the group after defeating India and have also booked their places at this year’s FIFA U-17 World Cup.
The fourth team in the group, North Korea, did not take part in the tournament, meaning the teams will play only two matches in the group stage.
For reference, this year’s FIFA U-17 World Cup will be held in Qatar from November 19 to December 13.
