Second season of the Open Budget project begins

The second season of Uzbekistan’s 2026 Participatory Budget ("Tashabbusli Byudjet") process has officially begun. The Ministry of Economy and Finance announced this.

According to the ministry, from today, July 15, until August 3, initiative-minded citizens can submit proposals and projects aimed at developing their local communities through the Openbudget.uz portal.

Citizens will also have the opportunity to propose projects to be implemented on a co-financing basis. Under this mechanism, initiatives may be carried out in partnership with other organizations or sponsors.

Once the submission period ends, the projects will go through the established screening and public voting stages.

According to the final results, the winning projects will be announced on September 1, 2026, the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s Independence.

Earlier, the first season of the Open Budget project began on March 11.
