2025 “Open Budget” program timeline released by Ministry  

The Ministry of Economy and Finance has approved the calendar for the "Open Budget" projects for 2025.  

The “My School” project for the 2024-2025 academic year will take place in January, with voting scheduled from January 13 to 17. The next project season, covering the 2025-2026 academic year, is set for October. Submissions will be accepted from October 1 to 10, followed by voting from October 21 to 30.  

The “My Kindergarten” project will run from June 1 to 10, focusing on initiatives for preschool education facilities.  

The first season of the initiative budget will commence on February 1, lasting 48 days. Winners will be announced on March 21. The second season is slated to begin on July 15 and will last 30 days, with winners to be revealed on September 1.  

In March 2024, Uzbekistan implemented a “one citizen, one vote” system to ensure a healthy competitive environment during initiative budget voting. In collaboration with the Digital Government Project Management Center, a citizen identification system has been introduced to prevent duplicate votes and enhance transparency.  

The Open Budget initiative continues to empower citizens by allowing them to participate directly in decision-making processes that allocate funds to key public projects.
