“Open Budget” enters its promotion phase

Today, August 19, the selection stage within the framework of the second season of the 2025 “Initiative Budget” process on the “Open Budget” portal was completed, and the promotion stage has begun, the Ministry of Economy and Finance reported.
According to the ministry, citizens submitted 22,623 proposals, of which 18,656 passed the selection stage within the framework of the second season.
It is stated that from August 19 to 21 of this year, a three-day promotion stage will be held for the projects that passed the selection stage within the framework of the second season of the “Initiative Budget” project. During this stage, the initiators will promote their selected projects in preparation for the voting stage.
The processes will be carried out on the following dates:
- Project submission stage – July 15 to August 3
- Selection stage – August 4 to 18
- Promotion stage – August 19 to 21
- Voting stage – August 22 to 31
The winners of the second season of this year will be announced on September 1, Independence Day.
In addition, for the 823 neighborhoods that won consecutively in the second season of 2024 and the first season of 2025, a break will be given in the second season of this year and the first season of 2026.
These neighborhoods (as well as schools, kindergartens, medical institutions, and other organizations located within them) will not be able to participate with their projects in the next two seasons.

In cases where clarifications are made to the list of winners, the updated list of neighborhoods granted a break will be published on the official pages of the Ministry of Economy and Finance as well as on the “Open Budget” portal before the start of each season.
The projects of the “Dashtbog” neighborhood in Namangan city, the “Nurafshon” neighborhood in Kogon city, and the “Begjap” neighborhood in Shumanay district were rejected in the first season of 2025, therefore, these neighborhoods will not be granted a break.
