Razambek Jamalov, the champion of the Paris 2024 Olympics, who secured the gold medal in freestyle wrestling in the 74 kg category, shared his thoughts on his triumph in the most prestigious sporting event of the past four years. He dedicated his victory to the people of four countries: Russia, Uzbekistan, Dagestan, and Chechnya.

"I have an overwhelming sense of joy in my heart. Perhaps I cannot fully convey the emotions I am experiencing at this moment. I executed my strategy against my Japanese opponent flawlessly. Throughout the tournament, I faced very challenging matches, and I want to extend my gratitude to my competitors for their formidable challenges. Each match made me stronger, and for that, I am very thankful. The tournament was missing the Russian national team, which would have made the matches even more compelling. My gold medal is dedicated to Russia, Uzbekistan, Dagestan, and Chechnya, all of whom can share in this pride," said Jamalov.

It is worth noting that the 2024 Summer Olympics concluded on August 11, with a total of 329 events being contested. The Games featured competitions across 32 sports, with the Uzbekistan delegation participating in 19 of these. Uzbekistan achieved notable success, securing prizes in five sports and finishing 13th overall with a total of 13 medals: 8 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze.
