6399Ikromjon Tukhtamurodovich Muslimov, chairman of the Supreme Court's Criminal Investigation Committee, has been relieved of his duties. The appointment of his successor was confirmed at the 57th general meeting of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis today, September 21.
Olimjon Hamidovich Ismoilov, Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Court, has been appointed as the new chairman of the Judicial Commission for Criminal Cases, succeeding Muslimov.
Ikrom Muslimov was born in 1972 in the Tashkent region and is of Uzbek nationality. He holds a law degree from the Tashkent State Law Institute, graduating in 1996. Throughout his career, Muslimov has held various positions within the justice and judicial systems. He served as a judge in the Bostanlik district of the Tashkent region from 1998 to 2001, in the criminal court of the Tashkent region from 2001 to 2005, and as a judge of the Supreme Court from 2005 to 2013. From 2013 to 2018, he was chairman of the criminal court of the Bukhara region.
Additionally, it should be noted that Oybek Azamjonovich Barakaboev has been released from his position as a judge of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan, following his transfer to another role, as recommended by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and confirmed by the Senate of the Oliy Majlis.
