A meeting of the Supreme Court Plenum was held on July 3 under the chairmanship of Supreme Court Chairperson Robakhon Makhmudova. The Supreme Court press service reported this.
It was noted that members of the chambers of the Oliy Majlis, judges, representatives of the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Constitutional Court, the Supreme Judicial Council, the Chamber of Advocates, relevant ministries and agencies, law enforcement bodies, and legal scholars attended the meeting.

“As a result of the reforms being implemented today, justice is being consistently digitalized, and court proceedings are becoming open, transparent and controllable. As the President has repeatedly emphasized, people come to court as their last hope, and every person who steps across the threshold of a court must be convinced that justice prevails in New Uzbekistan. To earn such trust, it is necessary to properly organize judicial practice and ensure that lawful, fair and well-founded decisions are made. Therefore, the explanations provided by the Supreme Court Plenum are of great importance,” the Supreme Court chairperson said.

At the meeting, the Supreme Court Plenum adopted resolutions “On judicial practice in considering cases related to declaring a citizen as having limited legal capacity or being legally incapable,” “On certain issues of applying measures to secure a claim, or preliminary protection, by civil, administrative and economic courts,” and “On introducing amendments and additions to certain resolutions of the Plenum of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Plenum of the Supreme Economic Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan.”

It was noted that the explanations contained in the adopted resolutions will help ensure the correct and uniform application of legal norms in the future. They are also important because they are aimed at administering justice, adopting lawful and fair decisions, ensuring uniform interpretation of legal norms by courts, and forming unified judicial practice.
It should be recalled that this meeting of the Supreme Court Plenum was broadcast online for the first time in Uzbekistan’s judicial history.
