Olympiad questions leaked online

Posts circulating on social media claim that questions for the district (city) stage of the mathematics Olympiad were leaked online across the country before the competition began. The Specialized Educational Institutions Agency has issued an official response regarding the incident.

According to the agency, the Olympiad questions were prepared by the Science Olympiads Center and printed centrally in each region under the supervision of local education departments. During the printing process at these regional headquarters, some employees allegedly obtained and distributed copies of the questions unlawfully.

As a result, the Agency announced that the mathematics Olympiad for grades 9, 10, and 11 at the district (city) level will be held again.

’’An internal investigation has been launched to identify those responsible, and they will face legal consequences in accordance with the current legislation. The Science Olympiads Center is committed to ensuring transparency, fairness, and impartiality at every stage of the process,’’ the statement read.

The agency also urged citizens to report any cases where individuals offer Olympiad questions or answers for money, or attempt to influence the process through connections or illegal means, to the Science Olympiads Center’s special bot or hotline.

It is worth noting that in 2022, photos of test questions for university entrance exams in Uzbekistan also spread across social media soon after the exams began.
