Nodirbek Abdusattorov has emerged as the frontrunner in an ongoing international chess tournament

The Prague Chess Festival 2024 is currently underway in the Czech Republic's capital, Prague, where Uzbek Grandmaster Nodirbek Abdusattorov has taken the lead in the tournament standings.

With 3 points accumulated over the course of the tournament, Nodirbek shares the lead with Iranian player Parkham Magsudlu after the completion of 4 rounds.

In the 3rd round, Abdusattorov secured a victory against Czech player David Navara, and in the 4th round, he faced off against Indian player Gukesh Domaraju, resulting in a draw.

Today, on March 2nd, the 19-year-old Abdusattorov is scheduled to compete against Mateusz Bartel from Poland in the 5th round.

It's worth noting that Abdusattorov recently climbed to 8th place in the world rankings, marking a historic achievement as the first Uzbek chess player to break into the top ten of the FIDE rating.
