$50,000 chess tournament begins today in Tashkent

On July 8-9, Tashkent will host the international tournament featuring FIDE world champion and grandmaster Rustam Qosimjanov from Uzbekistan, as reported by the "Uzchess" project press service.

The tournament's prize pool is $50,000. Players will compete in a rapid format, with games following a 15+10 time control.

Besides players from Uzbekistan, notable chess stars like Parkham Magsudlu, Shahriyor Mamadiyorov, Alexander Grischuk, and Richard Rapport will also compete in the tournament.

Representing Uzbekistan, Nodirbek Abdusattorov, Javohir Sindorov, Nodirbek Yoqubboyev, Shamsiddin Vahidov, Jahongir Vohidov, and Rustam Qosimjanov will compete in the tournament.

This is the second time the tournament is being held. Last year's competition was won by Javohir Sindorov.
