Nodirbek Abdusattorov took revenge on his old rival

Today, 4 April, the international chess tournament “Chessable Masters” began.  Nodirbek Abdusattarov from Uzbekistan is also participating in the competition among the best grandmasters of the world.

In the semi-finals of the tournament, which is held in the playoff system, Abdusattorov competed against his old rival Anish Giri from the Netherlands.

At the end of three games, Abdusattarov won twice over his opponent.  A draw was recorded in one match.  In this way, Abdusattorov, who won with a score of 2.5 – 0.5, won a ticket to the quarter-finals of the tournament.

On 5 April, Nodirbek will play against Indian Arjun Erigaisi in the quarterfinals.

It should be recalled that Abdusattorov and Giri competed for the victory in the “Tata Steel Chess” tournament held in the Netherlands at the beginning of the year.  At that time, Giri won the last round of the competition and became the winner of the tournament.
