A social media advertisement for a clothing store, featuring the Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan and People's Artist Ozodbek Nazarbekov, has gone viral. The public has pointed out that this may be a legal violation.
The Committee for the Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights has responded to this issue.
The committee emphasized that one of its main roles is to oversee advertising legislation in Uzbekistan.
"We inform you that the committee is conducting investigations under the 2022 Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan 'On Advertising,'" they stated regarding the advertisement featuring Minister Nazarbekov.
Our sources indicate that the clothing store promoted by the minister is one of the sponsors of the "Voice" project, which Nazarbekov leads. Previously, the minister also promoted a bank through this TV show.
