The mayor of Narpay district in the Samarkand region has been replaced, according to a report from the regional government's press service.
On June 26, an organizational matter was addressed during an extraordinary session of the District Council of People's Deputies. Sherzod Shuhratovich Rahmonov, who had been the district governor since 2020, was relieved of his duties due to his reassignment to another position.
At the session, deputies approved Sherbek Erkinovich Boronov as the new mayor of Narpay district.
Sherbek Boronov, born in 1985 in Narpay district, has held various roles in the banking sector since 2003. Since 2021, he has been serving on the Committee on Combating Corruption and Judicial Affairs of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
