On 24 February, the closure of airspace of the Rostov region (Russia) after the introduction of the Russian Armed Forces into Ukraine affected flights of the «Uzbekistan Airways» airline.
The company stated that due to the closure of Rostov airport for passenger flights, HY-9825 flight on the route Namangan - Krasnodar will return to the international airport Namangan (Uzbekistan region) on 24 February.
Passengers whose flights have been cancelled have the right to re-book their tickets free of charge, or to receive a full refund.
“Uzbekistan Airways” will further notify passengers of any changes in the schedule», – the official report says.
Russian President Vladimir Putin had earlier reported that the Russian military had launched a special operation in Donbass in eastern Ukraine. Putin justified this move with the request of the leaders of the pro-Russian separatist forces in eastern Ukraine.
According to the Advisor to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Kyiv was shelled by rockets.
Shortly after the outbreak of armed conflict, Ukrainian airspace was completely closed, and Russian airspace partially closed (only in the Rostov region).
