On June 23, the President of Mongolia, Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, arrived in Uzbekistan at the invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. This was confirmed by the press secretary of the Prime Minister.

President Khurelsukh and his wife, Luvsandorj Bolortsetseg, were greeted by Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov and other officials. Following a brief conversation, the Mongolian president and his spouse proceeded to their next scheduled destination.

The two nations aim to foster constructive political dialogue and enhance inter-parliamentary relations. Plans include increasing bilateral trade and implementing joint projects in sectors such as mining, agriculture, livestock, light industry, healthcare, transport, and logistics. Several intergovernmental and interdepartmental agreements are expected to be signed during the summit.

Additionally, President Khurelsukh will visit the city of Khiva to explore Uzbekistan's rich cultural and historical heritage.

For reference, President Khurelsukh previously visited Samarkand in September 2022 for the 22nd meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. His current state visit to Uzbekistan will last from June 23 to 26.
